Any kind of self-promotion needs a Promotional/Branded Content license. This includes reels, personal websites, videography, creative work, employee applications and any other project that promotes an individual or their skills.

A registered 501(c)(3) non-profit uses a Promotional/Branded Content license with a 501(c)(3) non-profit discount. In the cart, choose “Yes” when asked “Is this for a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization?” and then select the appropriate organization type - church, school/university, or 501(c)(3) or International Equivalent.

A non-profit in the U.S. that is not a 501(c)(3) uses a commercial Promotional/Branded Content license. In the cart, choose “No” when asked “Is this for a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization?” unless the organization qualifies as a registered 501(c)(3).

If the non-profit is a registered charity internationally that is equivalent to a 501(c)(3) non-profit, then it will use a Promotional/Branded Content license with a 501(c)(3) International Equivalent discount. Most international companies that are considered charitable, educational, religious, or otherwise engaged in serving the public interest will qualify for the non-profit license. In the cart, choose “Yes” when asked “Is this for a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization?” and then select the appropriate organization type - church, school/university, or 501(c)(3) or International Equivalent.

A promotional project for a school or university uses a Promotional/Branded Content license with a school/university discount. In the cart, choose “Yes” when asked “Is this for a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization?” and then select school/university. The employee count used should reflect that of the school or university as a whole, not individual colleges, schools or classrooms.


a school project?

The license for a school project depends on where the project is being posted or presented. If the project is being presented by the school or is posted on web pages affiliated with the school, then the appropriate license is a Promotional/Branded Content license with the school/university discount, and the employee count should reflect the employee count of the school as a whole. If the project is being posted on web pages that are not affiliated with the school, such an individual’s personal portfolio, then the appropriate license is a Promotional/Branded Content license for 1-10 employees.

In the cart, choose “Yes” when asked “Is this for a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization?” and then select “church.” Note that Internal Use licenses are for employee-only meetings, meaning that the only people viewing the project are employees of the church. For regular services with non-employees present use the External Use license.


a company meeting?

A meeting with only employees of the company present will use a Promotional/Branded Content Internal Use license. If non-employees are present at the meeting, then use a Promotional/Branded Content External Use. The employee count selected should be the employee count of the company as a whole, not the number of individuals in the meeting.
