With generative AI now baked into the tools creatives use every day, convenience has never been more tempting. Or more costly.
Every time a creative turns to generative AI, they’re making a bet. One that instant output won’t cost them their taste and reputation. Or flatten their perspective. Or that the legal gray areas won’t come back to bite later. And the more it’s relied on, the higher the stakes get—with their creativity and their career.
Creatives, it’s not worth the risks. Even when the quick hit of output starts to replace the satisfaction of making something real, your work will suffer.
It’s time to stop rolling the dice and draw a line.

Our Slop Addiction campaign does exactly that. A clear stance against creative dependency, and a reminder that authentic work doesn’t come from shortcuts. It comes from people.
“We’re living in a moment where authenticity and taste are being sacrificed for convenience,” says Musicbed CEO Daniel McCarthy. “For us, it’s simple. No amount of shortcuts can replace the years of mastering a craft and honing taste.”

While much of the industry is focused on making output faster and easier, we’re doubling down on something else: helping creatives make More Human™ work. That means providing them with real music made by real artists, human support when you need it, and access to an exclusive roster of in-demand and emerging artists.
Our goal is to make it clear that creative dependency on generative AI is an ongoing problem with serious long-term creative side effects. So we partnered with San Diego-based production agency Counsel to bring that idea to life through a series of PSA-style spots.
At the center: the Slop Machine™. A generative AI twist on the traditional casino slot machine, designed to represent the cycle creatives are falling into. Pull the lever. Get something instantly. Repeat.

Then we took it a step further. We built the machine for real and brought it to SXSW. (And we’re taking it on tour. Make sure you’re in the loop because you’ll want to see this one in person.)

The campaign extends beyond the installation, with a dedicated landing page, a downloadable Creative Recovery resource, and short-form social content designed to keep the conversation going.

The best work will always come from human hands, human instinct, and human taste. And that’s not something you can automate.
